Yesterday was spent in the studio with Drew Gibadlo, working on two new upcoming tracks from our band, Livid Ends.
The first is a song entitled, “Three Forty-Five”, which was written by Drew, Janine DeMichele, and myself (Jon Acosta) back in late July of 2011. We tracked this song’s basic vocal and rhythmic instruments, but never got around to finishing it… until last night.
my god, man. it is now beautiful. now, rather than showing you a preview of it, how about a quick sneak peak behind the studio speakers…
As it’s being mixed, Livid Ends is also working on its first music video which will be shot partially in Atlanta, as well as San Francisco, throughout the next two months.

Just catching up on my “creation period” for January… seems that I’ve slacked a bit with posts this week. Time to recap!!!
JANUARY 8: Storyboarding
Created a screen shot storyboard outline of a current motion graphics production for a new client.
JANUARY 9: Compositing
Started creating compositions in After Effects for project listed above.
JANUARY 10: Pre-Production Conference Call
Created a new client for an upcoming motion graphics promo involving a 3D fly-thru of their online learning center.
JANUARY 11: “Dino Partayyy!” Time-lapse
Created a fun time-lapse entitled “Dino Partayyy!”. (major thank you to the wonderful Miss Kate Alice Gervais for the idea and props!)
JANUARY 12: Music Recording w/ Livid Ends
Created some music with Drew Gibadlo and Dane Alves of my band, Livid Ends. Laid down drums for a song that we started tracking back in July, entitled “Three Forty-Five”, featuring the super talented, Janine DeMichele on keys.
OKAY! I think that puts us up to speed.
What have I learned from the past days and all of this creation? I can tell you now…

After 3 months of production, we’ve finally launched the Book Trailer for Casi Mclean’s emotionally uplifting novel, Wingless Butterfly!
The post production itself took place in Final Cut Studio and a bit of After Effects was also sprinkled into the mix, making the workflow for Wingless Butterfly…
following the trend that youtube.com and every other video hosting website out there has created, authors and publishers are starting to catch onto the online motion picture drift - and using it as a genius marketing tool…
i’ve been in pre-production with author, Casi McLean, for the last 2 months as we’ve taken her newly published novel, “Wingless Butterfly”, and dissected it into a visual masterpiece. what Casi has asked from Acosta Productions is to use certain scenes in her novel and create what is known as a “book trailer”. in a nutshell, this means
on april 24th at 6AM, myself and writing partner William McCanless (owner of bitsywords.com) finally began production on a film that we wrote 6 years ago… this film is called Back Alley Strut.
now, rather than getting into a synopsis of the intricate story and fantastic characters that were created to tell the tale of a long lost degenerate who comes back into his crime ridden past in order to salvage his dignity and take back his lover… oh wait. i think i just told you what the movie was about… okay. let me start over… ;)
